When a new F&B Manager was transferred in on Dec 1st, 2012 things became very difficult leading to the end of my career with Sheraton. The hotel was exquisitely clean. We hope to see you again the next time your travels bring you through Des Moines!

Second, the shower nozzle wouldn't stay upright and was hugging the wall. The hotel was exciting and fun, I returned in 2011 to directly work under my previous F&B manager. Turnover is very high because Atrium doesn't pay well enough for people to stick around.

Stayed at the Sheraton this past weekend and had an amazing stay. My job as Concierge was entertaining. While our standard rooms do not have refrigerators- all of our suite rooms do have those along with microwaves. The restaurant supervisor, Remy, is amazing, fun, flexible and easy to work for and with. I will return to the Sheraton WDM again very soon. This us a great property. The fact that this hotel is currently #12 in WDM is a joke and easily deserves to be in the top 5. Decent wine menu. The breakfast buffet was ok, i'd say get yourself a freshly made to order omelette, the juices they had were very watery, but the coffee was ok. The pay is bad for what we have to deal with. I enjoyed the interaction with guests who traveled from all other the world. The atrium lobby with waterfall and fake silk planter boxes along the terraces definitely harkens back to the 80s and 90s. Being a large atrium hotel- the waterfall is a signature item and necessary to create a white noise that actually makes the hotel environment quieter. I am very happy that you enjoyed connecting with our staff at the hotel and enjoyed the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper Bed. The hotel also has a sun terrace and bar. I sat at the bar for dinner and the bartender was extremely pleasant. The two things I will mention, however no big deal to me. I worked the front desk and saw about 10 Front Desk Manager or Assistant FOMs come and go in about 2 years time. 
Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Only good thing might be advancement opportunities, but only because people are constantly leaving. Very dated interior with cheesy indoor waterfall with strong chlorine smell in the atrium style lobby. The staff was exceptionally friendly. Answered phones, make room keys and reservations. Plus numerous other employees. We do appreciate the feedback. Comfortable hotel, great meeting/conference facilities, comfortable beds, good location. Atrium does everything it can to make money, be it underpay/understaff or charge for parking with a giant, empty lot. Pillows were comfortable. Granted, the rest of the hotel can definitely use an update, so I'm glad to know that they are scheduled for a renovation.

The rooms were clean, beds comfortable, water pressure could've been a bit better. One, the thermostat for the room was right under the heating vent. They were very accommodating. The ceiling height in the bathroom must be less than 7 ft. more. The shower head could use an update, though. It is laid back and a more frindly attmasphe rover it sister property the Embassy Suites. The hotel gym was okay, very clean, few exercise machines & a few weights in addition to a stretching area. Compensation and guests are, for the most part, great. Internet was easy to get onto but they charge for it. From the minute I checked in I could tell customer service was a high priority as the staff all learned my name my first day and they were always checking to make sure my stay was a good one. I stayed here several days for a conference held at the hotel. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the Des Moines International Airport and within a 3 mile radius. I had breakfast at the hotel and it was good and waitress was pleasant. A large turnover in hotel staff due to administrative management changes. You must train a new set of staff every other day. Benefits are ok, but not anything to brag about. The desk has a built-in power strip with two outlets, and the nightstand also has a built-in power strip. Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. Part-time employees were also eligible for the hotel brand employee discount which was awesome to take advantage of~~kind of a cumbersome process to actually get a hotel stay booked at such and such property per was quite restricted on when employees were allowed to stay But once all the work was done & set; the stay itself saved you a bunch of money which Rocked. It is laid back and a more friendly atmosphere over it sister property the Embassy Suites. 
Is anyone going to show up today? The closet was a little small for all of my business suits and other dress clothes. Guests are rarely fully satisfied because there is rarely enough staff to provide a great experience for everybody and live up to Marriott standards. 
Stayed here for a meeting. The job was easy, my co-workers were nice people, and management werent always jerks. Modern guestrooms feature a flat-screen TV, white bedding and large windows at the Sheraton West Des Moines. Well located in West Des Moines, it has an open atrium design, the rooms are spacious and well designed.

Drove Shuttle Bus taking guest to and from Airport or locations within 5 miles of hotel.
